Charlie is married to David Yates and has lived in Newbury for 27 years and raised her 4
children here. She has been a Marketing Manager in a school and a university and for some of the biggest brands. She currently works with historical fiction authors providing marketing and publishing services.
She has been a Governor of Park House and an active member of the Sustainable Newbury Group on Newbury Town Council. She was asked by a group of young mums to help them
petition the Council to get the fence back round the toddler play area in Victoria Park. But we were refused – all 1200 of us!
She has a love of the history of Newbury and is concerned that its heritage is being s
quandered with the ever greater needs of ‘vanity projects’.
