Dave was asked: Should the NHS be privatised?
Absolutely not.
Under the economic policy that I am advocating, namely abolishing government borrowing, we are perfectly capable, as a nation of providing a world class national health service.
Freed from the constraints of the assumption that cuts must be made, we could look dispassionately at the shape of the Health Service and decide what we want from it.
Operating it like the military services, a career path would be available for all to train and rise to the very top – within the service.
Young people who have a vocation need to be gathered into the NHS at an early stage. We shouldn’t be sending them off to university to become nurses we should be training them to be nurses, doctors or administrators from within the service.
